Overview
A skill is a reusable instruction pack an agent loads for a specific kind of work. It can define a workflow, explain domain conventions, and include supporting references. Skills make expert behavior available without copying the same guidance into every prompt.
Browse and manage skills in Customize → Skills.
Use a skill
Invoke a skill by name in your prompt, for example /db-migrations. Inspect can also load a relevant skill when its description clearly matches the task.
Maintain skills
Keep instructions concise, test the workflow on real tasks, and update references as tools evolve. Organization skills can distribute standards to every agent without duplicating prompts.
